What is The Archipelago Press?
The Archipelago Press is a start-up travel publication based in San Diego, California. We focus on storytelling, and crave transportive narratives and experiential guides about the Philippines. We seek to redefine travel beyond being a leisurely “good-vibes-only” activity into one that invites readers to confront critical questions. Ultimately, we aim to promote a space for cross-cultural immersion and exchange through decolonial, un-sugarcoated writing.
Does The Archipelago Press accept collaborations?
Yes! We partner with communities, grassroots movements, tourism boards, and experience providers for editorial coverage and campaigns. To explore collaborations, please visit our Contact page or email us at info@thearchipelagopress.com.
Do you accept hosted experiences or stays?
We accept sponsored stays, provided that service providers or destinations share The Archipelago Press’ values. We strive for honest reviews—no more, no less. For collaborations, please download our media kit.
Do you accept guest posts?
Just like destination features, guest posts must genuinely fit and are aligned with our vision. We do not accept articles on gambling, adult content, and the like.
How often is the newspaper released?
The Archipelago Press is a weekly publication, with new releases every weekend. Currently, we publish digital copies via Issuu, but plans to release physical copies to partner bookstores, newsstands, travel agencies, and Filipino cultural centers across California are also underway.
How can I get the latest issue?
Every new issue comes out first on the website, and also on our social media accounts.
Do you accept submissions from contributors?
Not at this point. But we’ll make sure to release an update in case this changes. Do check our News section from time to time (or you can sign up for our newsletter to receive the latest updates!)
